Drinking Tea
Drinking Tea
This cup of tea in my two hands,
Mindfulness held perfectly.
My mind and body dwell
In the very here and now.
My life is my message...
My life is my message...
“Thich Nhat Hanh has been a Buddhist monk since the age of sixteen and has lived an extraordinary life. He has survived persecution in his home country of Vietnam, along with three wars, and forty plus years in exile. He is the master of a temple in Vietnam whose lineage goes back over two thousand years and is traceable to the Buddha himself. The author of more than one hundred books of poetry, fiction, and philosophy, Thich Nhat Hanh has founded universities and social service organizations, and rescued Vietnamese boat people. He led the Vietnamese Buddhist delegation at the Paris Peace Talks and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Rev. Martin Luther King. He has founded numerous monasteries and meditation centers in the Plum Village tradition around the world. He now resides in Vietnam at his root temple.”
